The City of West Palm Beach has a system of drainage channels and ditches for storm water management. These facilities are maintained by the Engineering and Public Works Department, and are of vital importance since the water flowing through them drains not only to the City of West Palm Beach but inland areas as well. State law prohibits the dumping of any materials in City system drainage channels and ditches. Violations should be reported to the Police Department at 837-4000.
