When flooding occurs, moving furniture to a higher level or placing sandbags can slow floodwaters from damaging your possessions. Retrofitting can minimize damage from occurring. This involves building floodwalls, elevating the structure, etc. Information on retrofitting flood prone structures is available in the City Library or the Construction Services Department. Flood Certificates are kept on file in the Construction Services Department, and copies are available upon request.
